Manager – Technical Accounting & Research
Location: Princeton NJ area
Hybrid work environment - 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Salary: To $175k in base/bonus

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:

  • Review major transactions, including investments, acquisitions and financing arrangements, among others, and determine appropriate U.S. GAAP treatment through use of research tools and application of guidance and provide written documentation of relevant conclusions
  • Monitor the standard setting authorities for changes in GAAP or SEC reporting and communicate changes to the financial reporting group and other various accounting personnel
  • Integrate new accounting requirements into company accounting policies
  • Assist with providing technical accounting training on various topics to regional and corporate accounting departments
  • Identify a need for new accounting policies and develop written accounting policies for distribution to the company
  • Interpret current accounting policies to provide clarification of accounting requirements as they relate to specific questions or transactions and provide written documentation of relevant conclusions
  • Assist with financial reporting work in order to meet financial reporting deadlines
  • Present resolutions of technical accounting issues to members of senior management
  • Manage accounting research team and assist with prioritizing tasks

KEYS TO SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 4 – 8 yrs of professional experience
  • Big 4 or public / private
  • CPA
  • Detailed knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Must have proven skills in resolving complex technical accounting issues
  • Demonstrated ability to work with various departments and individuals to resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and able to communicate technical concepts to the business
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and manage deadlines
