Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician in Elkmont, AL.
Responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician includes:
Responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of all production-related equipment. Conduct preventative maintenance in a timely manner and address equipment breakdowns as needed. Assist in maintaining adequate levels of parts and supplies. Provide training for new maintenance technicians as required.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Support production efficiency and cost reduction by ensuring production equipment is readily available.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and facility.

Help manage inventory and availability of spare parts.

Organize and execute maintenance tasks in accordance with established quality standards.

Assist with equipment setup, including validation processes.

Train operators in specific areas of expertise.

Ensure workstation setup meets required quality specifications.
-
Monitor and track critical parameters related to manufacturing processes.

Suggest improvements to existing workstation setups.
Authority:
-
Recommend changes to production processes to supervisors, quality control, maintenance, or management.

Halt production if equipment poses a safety hazard.
-
Exercise responsibility for quality, safety, and environmental concerns, including stopping work processes or quarantining suspect items until issues are resolved.
Job Requirements of a Maintenance Technician:

Maintain equipment and facility in optimal working condition.
-
Oversee inventory and parts supply within the maintenance shop.
-
Adhere to preventative maintenance schedules.
-
Work to improve overall team efficiency.
-
Support the development of maintenance team members’ competencies.
-
Ensure adherence to plant regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards.
-
Report any concerns affecting product quality, production processes, or potential safety/environmental hazards.
-
Participate in teams dedicated to quality, production, and environmental improvements.
-
Collaborate with external contractors on maintenance-related projects.
Short-Term Responsibilities (Start-Up Phase):

Receive training from experienced personnel on-site and/or abroad.

Gain in-depth knowledge of all equipment and processes.
-
Assist with equipment installation and training initiatives.
Reporting:
-
Communicate maintenance requirements and equipment downtime to the Production Manager.
-
Share information with incoming shifts regarding ongoing issues, solutions, or changes.
-
Report any safety concerns.
-
Follow the assigned escalation process for reporting critical issues.
Quality Expectations:
-
Ensure that production equipment maintains expected product quality.
-
Notify management if a problem is identified.
-
Maintain a low scrap rate by ensuring proper machine functionality.
Internal & External Interactions:
-
Coordinate with management and personnel across various departments.
-
Work closely with maintenance, engineering, safety, and quality teams.
-
Engage with customers and vendors, including participation in audits and visits when necessary.
REQUIRED Experience and Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent with ten years of maintenance experience OR an Industrial Maintenance degree with at least two years of relevant experience.
-
Minimum two years of experience working with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
-
Must be detail-oriented, proactive, and self-motivated.
-
Experience in injection mold maintenance and processing is a plus.
Technical & Soft Skills:
-
Strong communication, negotiation, and meeting facilitation skills.
-
Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft applications and CMMS software.
-
Fluent in English with strong IT literacy.
Additional Requirements for Advancement:
-
Training on new equipment as it becomes available.
-
Software training as needed (e.g., Allen Bradley, Telemecanique, PLC programming and troubleshooting).

Participation in internal and external training programs.
Physical Requirements:
-
Occasionally required to sit.
-
Continuously required to stand and walk.
-
Frequently required to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, kneel, and crouch.

Occasionally required to reach above shoulder level.
-
Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
-
Continuously use hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating tools or operating a keyboard.

Occasionally flex and rotate head and neck.
-
Regularly work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery.

Work in a climate-controlled setting and an ESD-controlled environment.
