Job Title: Maintenance Technician 2 FLSA: Non-Exempt

General Summary
Performs a variety of technical functions in support of plant operations and the maintenance department. As a Maintenance Technician you may be required to perform tasks involved in the upkeep of the building and grounds, installation, maintenance, maintaining and repairing of hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, mechanical, and electrical systems on all production machines, equipment and building. The incumbent is expected to be a self-starter, a good manager of time, work independently and follow Reyes Hayashi Automotive standards for safety and conduct.
Key Areas of Responsibility (Answerable for the following end results)
  • Maintain all equipment within facility and grounds.
  • Daily, receives assigned work order to complete on equipment.
  • Upon completion of work, enters appropriate information onto worksheet for submission and filing and/or enters into CMMS system for filing and tracking.
  • Performs scheduled PMs and visually inspect and test assigned machines and equipment for proper functionality.
  • May be required to order requisition parts as needed.
  • Perform repairs on production machines and/or equipment when a malfunction has been detected. Will discusses machine operation variations with Maintenance Manager or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem and repair the machine.
  • Ensures that a high level of safety is adhered to at all times on and off the production floor
  • Provide technical support for Kaizen program and production.
  • Provide technical assistance to outside contractors and vendors.
  • Fabricate equipment and parts as required.
  • Prepare oral and written reports.
  • Respond to all emergency alarms and perform tasks as directed by the emergency coordinator.
  • Participate in all emergency evacuation drills in accordance with the guidelines as described in the RAA Plan of Emergency Action (P.E.A.)
  • Dispose of used oil, universal waste, & electronic waste in accordance with RAA written procedures.
  • Respond to chemical spills as directed by the emergency coordinator, including proper disposal.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Basic Educational, Training, Experience and Physical Demand Requirements
  • At least 6 years in maintenance or a combination of education and OJT experience.
  • Must be familiar with maintenance principles of facility maintenance.
  • Knowledge of machines shop operations.
  • Able to troubleshoot & repair electrical systems. 24v/120v/208v/220v/480v
  • Must understand and be able to troubleshoot control and relay logic
  • Knowledge of computers / HMI /
  • Able to troubleshoot PLC’s.
  • Basic ability to read and edit PLC programs
  • Must be knowledgeable with Allen Bradley software
  • Able to use a PLC and HMI to troubleshoot machines
  • Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • General Knowledge of building and electrical codes.
  • Familiar with general safety procedures as well as OSHA requirements.
  • Familiar with rigging and lifting procedures.
  • Familiar with fabrication, piping and structural requirements and practices.
  • Attend and pass training classes for First Aid and CPR certification that will prepare you for participation in the emergency response team as directed by the Emergency Coordinator.
  • Attend emergency response training annually.
