Russ Hadick and Associates has partnered with a Norfolk, NE client to help them search and qualify candidates for their 1st shift Maintenance Technician role.

We are looking for an entry-level Maintenance Technician who will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our client’s production and facility equipment. This position is essential to supporting the achievement of their site's business goals by ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Duties of Position

  • Installation and Maintenance: Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and facility equipment.
  • Emergency Repairs: Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during operations.
  • Scheduled Maintenance: Conduct scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service periods.
  • Machinist Duties: Undertake simple machinist responsibilities as needed.
  • Mechanic Skills: Utilize mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills to troubleshoot and repair production machines.
  • Reading and Interpretation: Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service tasks.
  • Problem Diagnosis: Diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, test, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Tool Use: Use various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in daily tasks.
  • Safety Adherence: Follow all safety policies, identify, and report unsafe conditions to the Supervisor.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education Requirements

  • Preferred: AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
  • Required: High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent years of education and production maintenance experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Precision Tools: Ability to use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc., with precision.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work in teams or independently.
  • Mathematics and Reading: Proficiency in reading and performing basic mathematics.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and/or move a minimum of 75 pounds regularly.
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
