JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician – Assembly Line Maintenance Tech in Pontiac MI. Our client is a Tier 1 Automotive Supplier known for advanced manufacturing processes and high-volume production for global OEMs. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of automated assembly lines through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.

Responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician – Assembly Line Maintenance Tech include:

  • Performing preventative and predictive maintenance on assembly line machinery and automation equipment

  • Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime

  • Responding to breakdowns quickly and effectively to support production uptime

  • Performing routine inspections and documenting findings in maintenance logs or CMMS systems

  • Working with engineers and production supervisors to improve machine reliability and optimize processes

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing components of PLCs, motors, conveyors, robotic systems, sensors, and more

  • Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics and blueprints

  • Following all plant safety policies and procedures including Lockout/Tagout and PPE usage

  • Assisting with the training of junior maintenance personnel

Job Requirements of a Maintenance Technician – Assembly Line Maintenance Tech:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and automation systems

  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics

  • Familiarity with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley preferred) and industrial robotics

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive production environment

  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as needed

  • Ability to lift, move, and work around heavy equipment

REQUIRED Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related field preferred

  • 3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive or high-speed assembly

  • Experience with preventative maintenance systems, tools, and safety protocols
