We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team in the plastics manufacturing industry, dedicated to the automotive sector. With over 40 years of leadership in the field, our commitment extends beyond growth and profitability to providing outstanding service and quality to our customers. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our production capabilities, ensuring optimal levels of productivity, quality, and safety to meet customer satisfaction. This full-time position is crucial for supporting our operations during the third shift, focusing on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Salary: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain production equipment in optimal operating condition.
- Perform and meticulously document all preventative maintenance activities.
- Assist assigned cells/areas in troubleshooting and repairing equipment to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cell/area Supervisors in training associates on proper equipment use and safety measures.
- Ensure adequate inventory levels of required replacement parts for cell/area equipment.
- Conduct regular oil changes on equipment as recommended by manufacturers.
- Strictly adhere to all internal and manufacturer recommended maintenance procedures.
- Work closely with Process/Industrial Engineers to implement process improvements and technological advancements.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organizational excellence within the work area.
- Engage in team problem-solving activities and effective communication to enhance operational efficiencies.
- Uphold all internal and OSHA mandated safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Follow all company policies and procedures to uphold standards of quality and integrity.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues.
- Skilled in programming and managing programmable controllers.
- Experience in operating various machining equipment.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift or move objects weighing up to 35lbs.
- Able to perform bending, stooping, and crouching movements as needed.
- Capable of working in environments with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, heat, and vibration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Prior experience in plastics manufacturing or automotive industry.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
