Food processor and distributor supplying steakhouse quality meats, fresh seafood, appetizers, unique gourmet items and desserts to food service, restaurants, private clubs, hotels and gourmet retail stores throughout the Midwest.
State of the art facility totaling 110,000 sq. ft. with 6 temperature controlled areas, freezer, dry storage and loading areas with a fleet of 100 trucks.
Responsible for maintaining equipment and plant maintenance.
Perform routine, daily inspection of exterior and interior of plant and extensive preventative maintenance and repairs.
Perform a variety of skilled duties of the building trades; painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, carpeting, furniture, cabinets, shelving and mechanics of maintaining and repairing the plant.
Perform emergency repairs when needed.
Oversee construction and repairs by 3rd party contractors in the facility. Perform weekly safety checks throughout the plant and warehouse.
Receive, store and distribute the maintenance materials against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
Maintain the inventory of equipment and spare parts for an organized maintenance storeroom.
Maintain PM schedules and records and keep Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) updated.
Comply with all FDA, HACCP, USDA, GMP and State of IL requirements.
HS / GED.
5+ years’ of experience in basic building maintenance trades and general maintenance of a food processing facility, production equipment, thermoforming packaging machines.
General mechanical ability, basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, refrigeration.
Knowledge and operation of manual and electrical hand tools, forklift, light truck and related motorized equipment, use of precision measuring, testing instruments to diagnose.
Able to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications. PLC knowledge a plus.
Ability to work M-F 7AM - 5PM which may include occasional off-shifts and Saturdays.
