Required Experience
- Manage maintenance and repair at Retail and Commercial Sites
- Collaborate closely and maintain good communication mechanisms with the Operations, Sales, and Commercial teams, HSEQ and the Corporate Infrastructure Team.
HSSE
- Ensure health and safety and maintenance policies and procedures are complied with by employees and contractors.
- Ensure all staff and contractors are aware of 8 Life Saving Rules and location specific site rules. Ensure good housekeeping and maintain site in pristine condition.
- Ensure the permit to work process is consistently and correctly followed by the team, particularly energy isolation and hot work.
- Ensure MOC documentation is completed for any change other than replacement in kind and communicated to the teams.
- Assist with risk assessments, technical audits and inspections and ensure compliance to regulatory, POEMS, ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements.
- Assist with the investigation of incidents and take timely corrective action as required.
- Ensure that HSSE metrics (e.g. UAUCs and observations) are met for the maintenance team.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes, procedures, and record keeping which is suitable for the location and aids in the improvement operational performance.
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, review and communicate the impact on maintenance activities.
Budgeting, Planning and Cost Management
- Responsible for the annual maintenance OPEX and CAPEX plan.
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets, control/ approve expenses and implement maintenance strategies.
- Workforce planning- Recruitment and training of resources (employees and contractors) to ensure adequate capability and capacity to implement maintenance strategies.
- Assist with identifying the appropriate contractor skills, experience and qualifications and manage contractors for specialised services critical to the operation (e.g. maintenance and electrical contractors).
- Forecasting spares and parts inventory; ensuring availability of tools and equipment.
Maintenance Management
- Ensure integrity and condition of assets and equipment throughout their life. Ensure timely and informed decisions are made on maintenance, repair, and replacement.
- Custodian of Comprehensive Maintenance Management System.
- Schedule and assign work orders and proactive maintenance tasks.
- Ensure minimum OAP requirements are met.
- Provide any technical support and coordination for more complex maintenance work.
- Drafting maintenance reports that help measure and improve team performance.
- Provide supervision, guidance, and performance evaluation for the Maintenance Coordinator, Engineers, and Technicians.
CAPEX Projects
- Prioritise work across the team.
- Ensure all projects are conducted within a consistent framework, utilising the Project Management Toolkit.
- Maintains database of Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) records.
- Performing inspections and oversight of maintenance work to ensure quality.
Required Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical, Electrical or Civil) and demonstrated leadership experience.
- Minimum of four years working experience in maintenance/ servicing/repairing of buildings, emergency equipment, tanks, pipelines, measuring equipment, pumps, and other electronic and/or electrical equipment within a Class 1 Division 1 and 2 environment within depots, retail, and commercial sites.
Competencies
- Competent in Microsoft Office especially Windows, Excel, Power point and Projects.
- Awareness of Capital Project Software, e.g. Ecapex, is preferable.
- Knowledge of HSSE, Guyana laws, regulations, and ISO standards (9001, 14001).
- Experience working with a Comprehensive Maintenance Management system is an asset.
- Knowledge of HSE and Emergency Codes compliance.
- Knowledge of the Guyana market and operational methods of people in the area.
- Demonstrated leadership and adaptable to influence change at different levels in the organisation.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, and analytical skills
- Numerate with the ability to analyse data and present in a way to garner support and aid in decision making.
