Maintenance Supervisor - Facilities

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for maintaining and improving the appearance and operational effectiveness of our manufacturing facility.
Responsible for EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) policy development, management and support.
This role will have supervision of a small facilities team. The job requires to be able to provide hands on support when needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

FACILITIES MANAGEMENT:
• Assets: drive continuous improvements in the reliability, appearance and maintenance of production machines in a modern machine shop. Be familiar with the systems that make the shop function (electricity, compressed air, centralized chillers, and vacuums).
• Spend: work with local and corporate team to manage budget, forecast expenses and identify savings opportunities. Establish best practices in maintenance programs to eliminate costly repairs.
• Team: share strategic vision with team, develop a skilled, engaged and effective facility management team, implement standard facility asset management processes and tools, establish metrics and targets for team performance management, communicate results, and liaise local and corporate managers to assure full integration and coordination of activities.
EHS MANAGEMENT:
• Responsible for managing, developing and implementing EHS policies in line with CAL-OSHA rules and corporate guidelines.
• Initiate, manage and drive key projects related to EHS.
• Work with external agencies and regulatory authorities to develop and/or maintain safety measures.
• In partnership with corporate team, develop and roll-out local EHS guidelines (best practice for specific hazards, accident reporting, and training requirements).
• Help maintain employee awareness of EHS management practices.

• Has strong project management, organizational and time management skills.
• Is experienced with supplier negotiations.
• Takes pride in the quality of their work; has an eye for detail.
• Ability to organize elements of the EHS management system.
• Knowledge of proper Health and Safety measures
• Hands on experience in maintenance & repair of CNC machines and shop tools
• Possesses strong analytical, problem solving and process mapping abilities
• Lean experience: Flow / Pull, 5S or Continuous Improvement

QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION
• High school diploma required
• Post-secondary degree or diploma preferred or equivalent work experience

- RELATED EXPERIENCE
• 3-5 years’ experience in facilities management, preferably in manufacturing
• 3-5 years’ EHS experience in manufacturing environment


• Project Management experience considered an asset
