Maintenance Superintendent

This position’s primary objective is to provide information to the Maintenance Manager, Supervision, and guidance to the maintenance department to ensure quality maintenance and reliable operation of the mechanical equipment. Propose ways to extend the lifetime of the equipment and at the same time, reduce maintenance costs. Provide continuous preventative maintenance to guarantee high percentage run time. The incumbent shall be highly concerned for the safety of him/her self and co-workers and follow all safety rules procedures and processes.

Job Specifications:

Education:

· (Minimum) High School diploma with 5-10+ years of cement industry experience, preferably in maintenance

Experience:

· 5+ years in Maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • The incumbent supervises the work of all the maintenance personnel, lubrication and general inspections.
  • The Maintenance Superintendent works in close relationship with the Production Superintendent with respect to the priority and scheduling of inspection and repair work.
  • The incumbent also analyzes mechanical failures and problems, recommends change and follow up on the implementation of agreed to changes and improvements.
  • The Maintenance Superintendent ensures that the Maintenance Administrator maintains files on equipment wear, oil analysis, etc. This information is used for the purpose of predicting component replacements in order to achieve the maximum service life.
  • The incumbent is responsible for being on call on a rotating basis to cover plant problems.
  • The Maintenance Superintendent also communicates daily with the Production Department in order to identify problems encountered during the previous shifts.
  • The incumbent reviews the previous night’s incidents and will recommend the necessary repairs required at the daily morning meeting.
  • The incumbent also assists the Maintenance Supervisors training of the repair staff through on-the-job classroom training.
