Maintenance Planner

The Maintenance Planner role is based in US and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager as well as working closely with the Electrical Manager.

REPSONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate maintenance activities for the plant. Schedule prioritized work from the work order backlog and produce regular work schedules to ensure required maintenance is performed. Manage the planning of all major equipment outages and significant repairs by utilizing project-planning techniques and software
  • Coordinate the monitoring, evaluation and modification of the preventative, predictive and proactive maintenance programs to ensure maximum equipment uptime and efficient use of resources
  • Support the mechanical/electrical maintenance functions of the plant
  • Work closely with production and other departments in developing the work schedules including the coordination of maintenance activities for efficient flow of operations
  • Develop and maintain files and drawings for the maintenance department such a drawings, checklists, and maintenance history
  • Assist the maintenance manager in the preparation of the annual maintenance budget; the development of the department's long-term goals and objectives to meet the overall plant operational and cost goals
  • Report on the timing and completion of all safety related orders and notifications
  • Facilitate weekly and monthly planning meetings as required to record and report the necessary repairs based on input from the production and other plant departments Generate other maintenance-related reports as required
  • Oversees Contractors as required
  • Organize, plan, and coordinate major outage activities between maintenance, electrical, and production departments
  • Draft and revise PM work orders
  • Facilitate shutdown planning meetings as required to prioritize upcoming major repairs
  • Manage the work order system (SAP), including recording completions of work orders, creating requisitions, capturing the parts required for each work order and ensuring work orders are created and released according to corporate guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Mechanical Engineering degree, or substantial relevant skilled trade experience
  • At least 3 years of maintenance experience at an industrial facility
  • Solid understanding of preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance principles, techniques, and technologies
  • Strong technical proficiency in mechanical and electrical topics
  • Solid knowledge of computerized maintenance software; prior experience with project management software and electronic timekeeping systems
  • Excellent organizational skills with a good working knowledge of filing systems for drawings, manuals and equipment records
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Project
  • Strong process discipline, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Purchasing experience and procurement principles
  • Familiarity with industrial plant operations, plant equipment, repair techniques and resource planning
  • SAP
