SHIFTS: 1st Shift
SUMMARY: We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The
responsibilities of the Mechanic include inspecting Chassis, performing basic repairs, replacing
parts, completing inspection forms, taking inventory. You will be working along with our
experienced Maintenance Mechanic Manager to learn the trade and advance your career. To be
successful as a Mechanic, you should be good with your hands and have strong attention to
detail. Ultimately, a top-notch Mechanic has a good understanding of mechanics and great
skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Following company-created checklists to inspect and test chassis (Bit inspection).
- Performing standard mechanical repairs, such as disassemble & Reassemble Air brake
systems, brakes, Brake spring chambers, spring Brake control Valves, air brake systems leak
check.
- Adjusting air brake slack adjuster to specification
- Learning repair techniques under the supervision of the Mechanic.
– Writing labor, time, and parts on forms. - Performing chassis lubrication.
- Testing chassis before and after repair procedures. - in-field testing electrical devices (ABS) &
trailer lighting system to determine functionality.
- Removal and installation of Chassis Landing gear, Sand Shoe, Crank Handles.
- Installing Mud Flaps & Retaining straps.
- Maintaining the workshop areas and keeping inventory areas well-organized.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A completed certificate or diploma in Auto Mechanics may be advantageous.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be familiar with both manual and automatic transmission
types.
- Strong understanding of mechanics.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good analytical skills.
- Physical fitness and stamina to stoop, crawl, work laying down, and lift heavy machinery.
- Ability to safely operate Electric lift truck
