Position Responsibilities:
Reports to the Director of Engineering for a leading privately held food and beverage manufacturer. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall management of maintenance, equipment and capital projects for two plants and maintenance supervisors. Responsible for Vendor Management, Capital Requisition Process, Quotations, Coordination of vendors and plant staff, Installation, and Commissioning. Participates as a leadership member of the Safety Committee including monthly safety inspections in designated areas, and manages the corrective actions, follow up to completion. Coordinates Capital installation plan and activities with corporate engineering team. Performs and documents removal, installation, disassembly, repair and assembly of production, material handling, waste and raw product equipment, support equipment and systems when necessary. Leads development and updates of Preventative Maintenance programs for both facilities, including tracking and measurement of PM effectiveness. Troubleshoots processing systems as needed; must be capable of performing emergency repairs. Assists in the development and maintenance of a supplier control index assuring that only high quality vendors are retained. Meets with vendors to discuss and resolve mechanical problems as required. Remains current with new government rules, scientific procedures and chemical regulations. Participates/Leads safety committee meetings at 2 facilities, discusses action items and solutions for corrections. Performs monthly safety inspections at 2 facilities and documents findings. With the assistance of others, evaluates and coordinates/conducts safety training. Enforces HACCP and GMP requirements. Creates a culture that focuses on producing Safe, Quality Food.

Background Required:
  • Food and Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods manufacturing, processing and packaging (4 years)
  • Maintenance Management (3 years)
  • Capital Project Management including installation and commissioning
  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Vendor Management, requisitions, and quotations
  • Knowledge of GMP’s, HCAAP, FSMA, safety standards (SQF) and packaging practices essential to maintenance
  • Excellent Electrical and Mechanical Trouble Shooting and Root Cause Analysis
  • Able to work any shift, overtime and any or all days of the week in accordance with plant needs.
  • Travel <10%
  • Education: BS in Engineering, related field or experience with WA state trade certification
  • Residence: Yakima, WA (relocation assistance provided)
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Beverage Manufacturing
  • OSHA 30-hour Certificate
  • Continuous Improvement, lean manufacturing and/or six sigma
