Maintenance Manager
Role Summary
We're looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to guide both the strategic and daily operations of a large, technically sophisticated manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Plant Director, this role oversees all engineering and maintenance functions to ensure optimal equipment performance, efficiency, and compliance—all while driving a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Development

Lead a team of direct reports with full responsibility for hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management

Foster a culture of operational excellence, safety, and engagement across the maintenance and engineering teams

Proactively manage employee relations and build team capability through ongoing development and mentoring
Safety & Compliance Oversight
-
Ensure all maintenance personnel are thoroughly trained on safety procedures and regulations (OSHA, GMP, and internal health and safety policies)

Champion and enforce compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including lockout/tagout, hazardous communication, machine safeguarding, and environmental standards

Maintain food safety and sanitation standards—empowered to halt production in the event of a quality or safety risk
Maintenance Strategy & Execution

Direct the installation, upkeep, and decommissioning of all plant equipment with a focus on cost-effectiveness and reliability

Oversee heating, ventilation, air conditioning, compressed air, and electrical systems to ensure uninterrupted facility operations

Set priorities and allocate maintenance resources to maximize uptime and support production goals
Technical & Operational Improvement

Identify and implement process improvements that enhance product quality, increase machine uptime, and reduce costs

Collaborate closely with the plant leadership team on technical solutions for both Blow Molding and Injection Molding operations

Develop and refine preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to extend asset life and minimize unplanned downtime
Project & Contractor Management

Solicit and evaluate contractor bids for new equipment installations, facility upgrades, or other projects

Recommend contractors based on value, quality, and timelines; oversee project execution to meet organizational standards

Maintain accurate layouts of plant infrastructure and facilities
Collaboration & Cross-functional Relationships

Act as a key liaison with internal teams, external customers, and commercial stakeholders to align maintenance efforts with broader operational goals
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

At least 5 years in industrial maintenance leadership within a manufacturing setting
Skills & Competencies
-
Strong working knowledge of maintenance management practices and plant engineering

Proficient in interpreting reports, business correspondence, technical documents, and statistical data

Skilled in identifying problems, analyzing root causes, and implementing effective solutions
-
Comfortable working under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
-
Effective verbal and written communicator with strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate teams across multiple shifts
