Maintenance Manager - Manufacturing Plant

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Manager to spearhead operations within our advanced manufacturing facility located north of Syracuse, NY. This integral role involves leading a skilled maintenance team in a state-of-the-art paper products and specialty coatings manufacturing environment. The position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on plant efficiency and reliability, ensuring optimal functioning of highly automated systems.

Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the maintenance department to ensure all equipment and systems operate at peak efficiency.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods across various departments.
  • Manage a team of 5-15 maintenance professionals, providing leadership and technical guidance.
  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections and audits to preempt potential disruptions.
  • Implement and manage maintenance schedules and activities while minimizing downtime and meeting strict production deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other department managers to optimize quality and efficiency of production.
  • Manage and oversee the inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements within the maintenance operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, applying best practices in maintenance and lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Prepare and control the budget of the maintenance department to align with organizational goals.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • 10 to 25 years of experience in maintenance within a highly automated manufacturing setting.
  • Minimum of 5 years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a maintenance team consisting of 5-15 members.
  • Extensive experience in maintenance planning and scheduling is essential.
  • Proficient in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and ERP software systems like SAP or Oracle.

  • Advanced certifications related to maintenance management and equipment reliability.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams within a manufacturing environment.
