DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promotes and supports safety culture and ensures compliance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Reviews job orders to determine work priorities. Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
  • Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
  • Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
  • Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
  • Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
  • Directs training and orientation of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate required; bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Three years of experience in maintenance operations within heavy industrial manufacturing operation preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. General knowledge of the inner workings of heavy industrial equipment reconditioning and repair.
  2. Ability to interpret drawings and use the required tools.
  3. Ability to speak and write English.
  4. Ability to effectively lead a team.
  5. Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, contractors, management, and employees.
  7. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems.
  8. Ability to gather information and perform root cause analysis and problem-solving.
  9. Computer literacy skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Qualifications

Education

Required

High School or better.

Preferred

Bachelors or better in Mechanical Engineering.
