Job Description
BCTG’s direct client is in need of an Offshore MS Fabric Platform Administrator
Responsibilities include:
Platform Governance
- Manage and optimize Fabric capacities, including allocation, monitoring, and scaling.
- Establish and enforce governance standards for workspace creation, naming conventions, lifecycle management, and access control.
- Oversee OneLake storage governance, including data organization, retention, and optimization.
- Maintain policies for data classification, sensitivity labels, and compliance.
- Manage the publication of Reports & Datasets which follow the governance standards.
Security and Access Management
- Administer user roles, permissions, and group memberships across Fabric workspaces and items.
- Implement and maintain security best practices such as row-level security, data masking, and secure data sharing.
- Review and audit user activity logs to ensure secure and compliant usage.
Operational Management
- Monitor platform health, including refresh schedules, pipeline performance, and workload utilization.
- Support and troubleshoot issues across Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Engineering, RealTime Analytics, and Power BI workloads.
- Manage data gateway configurations and external data connections.
- Optimize compute and storage usage to ensure cost-effective performance.
User Enablement and Support
- Provide guidance and best practices to workspace admins, data engineers, and report creators.
- Support onboarding of new teams and projects into Fabric.
- Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and training materials.
- Assist with reviewing and approving workspace, capacity, and permission requests
