MEDICAL SCIENCE LIAISON (MSL)

At MCR International, we are partnering with a leading international pharmaceutical company for the recruitment of a Medical Science Liaison (MSL).

This role is designed for a scientifically driven professional with strong communication skills, strategic mindset, and the ability to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem.

The position plays a critical role in executing the medical strategy, ensuring scientific excellence, and supporting the successful launch and commercialization of products within a highly specialized therapeutic area. It involves close collaboration with internal teams and external experts, including Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), researchers, and physicians.

Key Responsibilities:

Scientific Expertise

  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of company products, therapeutic areas, and relevant scientific literature.
  • Stay up to date with clinical data, research developments, and treatment guidelines.
  • Provide accurate, balanced, and evidence-based scientific information to healthcare professionals.

Medical Education & Scientific Communication:

  • Educate healthcare professionals on product use, clinical benefits, and scientific evidence.
  • Communicate complex clinical trial data and scientific publications in a clear and impactful manner.
  • Support internal teams with scientific and clinical insights for strategic decision-making.

KOL & HCP Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and healthcare professionals.
  • Engage in high-level scientific discussions and foster collaboration in research initiatives and clinical trials.
  • Act as a trusted scientific partner to external stakeholders.

Compliance & Ethics:

  • Ensure all activities are conducted in full compliance with applicable regulations and ethical standards.
  • Maintain integrity and transparency in all scientific exchanges with healthcare professionals.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Strategy:

  • Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Marketing, and other internal teams to align activities with business objectives.
  • Provide medical insights to support product strategy, launch plans, and lifecycle management.
  • Contribute to initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and impact of the medical function.

Medical Information & Support:

  • Respond to medical inquiries and provide scientific clarification on clinical topics.
  • Support discussions on clinical practice, including off-label information where appropriate.
  • Provide access to scientific resources such as publications, guidelines, and educational materials.

Candidate Profile:

  • Strong scientific mindset combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build credibility and influence external experts and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and capable of working both independently and cross-functionally.
  • High level of analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to compliance.

Professional Experience:

  • Degree in Life Sciences (Pharmacy, Biology, Medicine or similar).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as an MSL or in Medical Affairs roles.
  • Experience in Multiple Sclerosis is highly valued.
  • Established network with Key Opinion Leaders is preferred.
  • Experience supporting product launches is a plus.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English is required.
