Job Desription:
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing and analyzing customer orders to ensure accuracy, timely processing, and fulfillment, while providing top-notch customer service. This role serves as a key liaison between the customer and Regional Sales Team, helping improve customer satisfaction. This position requires intermediate Excel skills and great attention to detail.
Key Responsinilities:
- Enter customer orders into the ERP system (Axis 7.1), while reviewing for accuracy, completeness, and on-time delivery.
- Analyze customer forecasts and order trends, providing meaningful feedback to internal and external stakeholders.
- Respond to all customer calls and emails addressing inventory questions, pricing, etc.
- Work with inside and outside sales teams to prepare RFQs.
- Maintain accurate records in ERP and Excel, which includes updates to pricing spreadsheets as metal and conversion values change.
- Interact daily with Regional Sales Team to support all sales activities.
- Manage customer accounts, including inventory levels, on-time delivery, metal hedges, and monthly contract status reports.
- Provide customers with product samples, catalogs, market updates, lead times, metal trends, etc.
- Accompany regional sales manager on customer visits or trade shows approximately four times per year. Additional travel time may be required within the regular workday when needed.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, data science, economics, supply chain, or a related field is required.
- Experience in metal sales or metal procurement is strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in order management, sales operations, or logistics required.
- Experience maintaining detailed Excel spreadsheets is non-negotiable. Please be prepared to discuss detailed Excel experience during interview.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to fulfill the needs of the customer in a positive and friendly manner.
- Knowledge of aluminum, metal fabrication equipment, and/or the ability to read blueprints are a plus.
