Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Brokerage Manager of a leading privately held transportation and logistics services organization. The company specializes in intermodal services, freight management, brokerage, and logistics. Handles unusual and specialized needs of their customers in addition to transportation.
The Logistics Account Executive is responsible for the solicitation, brokering and management of all freight for customers. Will maintain the proper documentation pertaining to all loads moved; negotiate customer and carrier freight rates. Will call and work with existing customers to obtain loads. Will work with Brokerage Manager to generate new customer leads, follow up with both carriers and customers on assigned loads, maintaining productive working relationships with customer and carrier representatives.

Background Required:
  • Progressive responsibility for selling Non-Asset Freight Brokerage (2+ years)
  • Mode of transportation (i.e. Truckload, Flatbed, Specialized, Temperature Controlled)
  • Pricing and margin integrity
  • Negotiations
  • Customer development, profitability, & market penetration
  • Carrier development/sales
  • Computer literate: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Residence: Atlanta, GA ; Detroit, MI ; Chicago, IL
Background Preferred (but not required):
  • Inside Sales
  • Cradle to Grave brokerage experience (2+ years)
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
