Locum Emergency Medicine Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Coastal North Carolina / ER APP
Practice emergency medicine steps from the Atlantic in North Carolina’s famous Outer Banks. This locum assignment offers a supportive emergency department team, manageable patient volumes, and the chance to deliver high-quality care in one of the most scenic coastal communities in the Southeast.
Why This Assignment
- Assignment Dates: Specific shifts available May - September 2026; start as soon as credentialed
- Schedule: 10 or 12-hour shifts including days, evenings, and nights; no call required
- Coastal emergency department serving a close-knit Outer Banks community
- Average daily census of ~20 patients with manageable throughput
- Collaborative ED team of 6 physicians and 3 APPs
- Respond to hospital codes as part of the care team
- Specialty consultation available including surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, and telestroke
- Epic EMR system across the health system
- Travel: Paid travel and expenses provided
About You
- Be able to do the job as described
- Master’s degree as Family or Emergency Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- North Carolina NP or PA license required
- Recent Emergency Department experience as a APP within the last 12 months
- DEA registration required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS/APLS certifications
