Under general supervision, incumbent is responsible for reviewing new, renewed and modified non-complex loan requests for consumer and non-complex commercial loans post-closing. Position will be responsible for comparing approved loan requests against loan documentation provided and determine if documentation represents approved terms. Position will be responsible for working with lending staff to resolve or clarify any possible deficiencies in loan packages and loading exceptions to the tracking database.


  • Review, scan and upload complete loan and collateral files to ensure that established standards are met, including compliance with federal regulations and adherence to Bank lending policy as well as ensuring that the Bank’s security interest is established and our lien position is upheld.
  • Non-complex loans are identified as all consumer and commercial non-real estate secured loans and held for sale mortgage loans
  • Review all loan documents provided ensuring receipt of critical documents including but not limited to: promissory note, security agreement (if applicable) and guaranties (if applicable); verify all documents have been signed by all required parties
  • Verify terms on promissory note match terms approved on loan approval
  • Verify and review security documents
  • Communicate with loan officers and lending assistants to provide guidance on the correct way to document loan files and remedy existing issues.
  • Set up/Update any ticklers necessary
  • Separate original documents to be retained and prepare and file note jackets or return original documents to branch if applicable.
  • Assist management in the preparation for and during audits and exams.
  • Add/update Collateral Tracking records as needed in core based on collateral securing loan
  • Scan relevant loan documentation into Loan Documentation System
  • Receive items to clear exceptions, update tracking; correspond with lending staff regarding clearing of exceptions
  • Routinely update tickler items as documents are received.
  • Complete Collateral Perfection of lien (if applicable)
  • If UCC collateral, create the UCC record using CT Liens Solutions
  • If CD collateral, verify hold is on account in Xperience Silverlake; if not, contact Loans Ops to add hold to account
  • Ensure documents are recorded at the appropriate level for deeds, etc
  • Other job duties as assigned


  • High school graduate or equivalent education certificate (GED) required
  • Minimum of 2 years working with consumer and commercial loan documentation
  • Minimum of 1 year of loan funding experience
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (e.g. create new documents, edit existing files, create tables, sort/filter data, print documents, generate new records, email and calendaring)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Written communication skills including grammar, spelling and composition
  • Verbal communication skills including the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Strong attention to detail and able to take direction
  • Must have ability to prioritize a variety of tasks, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Ability to follow set procedures and practices
