Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP of Operations of a privately-owned food grade tank carrier that provides transportation services throughout all the United States as well as importing and exporting services between the US, Canada, and Mexico. They have been in business since 1974 and operate with a fleet of over 500 tractors and 1,200 trailers.
The Load Planner is responsible for order & delivery process, assigning loads, updating movements, informing the customer of “in-progress” and “delay” notifications. Provides complete and timely incident & accident telephone reports. Prepares daily mount list requests for the depot. Assists with the development, implementation, training, and measurement of safety and service. Load Planner does not just talk with customers and drivers, but also handles data entry for all loads and are accountable to their regions solely, meaning they get calls after hours and on weekends. Challenge is to foster a team atmosphere while ensuring customer commitments are met.

Background Required:
  • Transportation dispatcher (1 year)
  • DOT rules and regulations
  • Positive customer service
  • Scheduling of PM’s
  • Working Knowledge of HOS
  • Understanding of driver retention strategies
  • Problem Solving abilities
  • Attention to detail / strong work ethic
  • Transportation dispatch software (i.e. TMW, McCleod)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Education: High School degree or equivalent
  • Location: Winter Haven, FL (relocation assistance provided)
