Litigation Legal Assistant
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Legal Assistant with over 3 years of relevant experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation law.
Responsibilities:
- Assist lawyers in preparing legal documents
- Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles.
- Manage and organize case files, including maintaining electronic and physical filing systems.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal matters.
- Schedule appointments, hearings, and meetings for lawyers.
- Prepare and coordinate documentation for court appearances and legal proceedings.
- Assist with drafting correspondence and communicating with clients regarding case updates.
- Coordinate with external agencies, experts, and medical professionals as necessary.
- Provide administrative support to lawyers, including managing calendars, billing, and expenses.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Must have a legal assistant diploma, paralegal certificate or law clerk certificate
- 3 years of experience in litigation law .
- Proficient in legal research and document drafting.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
- Availability to work on-site downtown Ottawa
