Crawford Murphy & Tilly (CMT) is hiring for a licensed roadway design engineer for a technical role in their Aurora, Illinois office. This individual will be responsible for leading the technical engineering design of local projects, mentoring junior engineers, designing roads and appurtenant infrastructure, providing QA/QC on design projects, and working directly with clients. The team in Aurora is a well-established surface transportation group with a strong local presence and an extensive backlog from large tollway reconstruction and new interchanges to local agency, county, and municipal Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects. Many of the team’s projects are in Northern Illinois for clients like Will County, Lake County, DeKalb County, and the Illinois Tollway. Minimal travel is required for this position. The surface transportation team at CMT is regularly entrusted by their clients to deliver the most critical projects. The team worked with the Illinois Tollway to design the award-winning I-90 and Barrington Road Interchange and 5-mile corridor widening and bridge reconstruction on I-90 between IL 53 and Arlington Heights Road. In addition the team has worked on the Kane County Longmeadow Parkway and Bridge over the Fox River, Lake County Cedar Lake Rd Realignment and the Village of Plainfield 143rd St roadway extension and bridge on new alignment. The team includes specialized knowledge that offers the ability to apply the most cutting-edge approaches to roadway, interchange, or intersection design. This position will allow a professional engineer to focus on honing their technical skill while working with a supportive team on interesting and challenging roadway planning and design projects.

Requirements:
- BS in Civil Engineering or related fields.
- 6+ years of experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Prior roadway design experience.
- Experience using Microstation and Geopak
- Familiarity with IDOT and/or Tollway processes and requirements (preferred)
