Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Summary: Assists all clinic physicians and nurses in the care of patients per organizational and departmental procedures and under the direction of the Supervising Physician or Nurse Supervisor.


Position Responsibilities:

• Assist in the delivery of nursing care for patients at the clinic
• Welcome patients professionally with all necessary forms and escort them to the appropriate room.
• Obtain and record patient vital signs, review medications and drug allergies, confirm preferred pharmacy, and inform physician when patient is ready to be seen.
• E-scribe presriptions to pharmacy and complete prior authorizations.
• Ensure patient rooms are organized and disinfected and document per OSHA guidelines.
• Administer injections and vaccines. Ensure all medications are administered correctly and monitor patient's response. Notify Physician or Physician Nurse if patient has adverse reaction and document follow up as required.
• Prepare sharps containers for safe disposal.
• Update OSHA and CPR training on a regular basis.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, immunotherapy, and/or treatment plans.
• Obtain requested lab specimens using correct procedure and equipment while maintaining patient safety.
• Assist in training new team members.
• Attend workshops, seminars, and training as necessary.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Current licensure or certification with the state.
• Certification of graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR programs for healthcare providers.
• OHSA and HIPAA training.
• Excellent communication, observational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work at satellite clinics as needed.
• Ability to maintain flexibility as patient needs change.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times per HIPAA standards.
