Level 2 Desktop Support Technician
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Level 2 Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. This position requires a proactive and skilled professional with strong desktop, hardware, and networking knowledge. You will be responsible for managing and supporting desktops, printers, and IT infrastructure across both office and manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support approximately 50–75 computers and 5–10 printers (networked and stand-alone depending on site).
- Provide installation, configuration, and troubleshooting for hardware and software.
- Serve as a first responder for IT incidents: triage, resolve, and escalate issues as needed to internal teams or external MSP/MSSP.
- Must have the ability to be resourceful and collaborate to foster continuous improvement.
- Administer and maintain Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and endpoint management tools.
- Support Windows operating systems (Windows 10 & 11; Windows 7 experience a plus).
- Provide end-user support for Microsoft Office 365, MFA, and mobile devices (Android & iOS).
- Troubleshoot and support network printers, print servers, and labeling systems.
- Document IT processes, configurations, and resolutions for internal knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate across teams to improve IT processes and user experiences.
- Independently manage onboarding/offboarding tasks, including hardware deployment and user account provisioning.
- Participate in IT projects, system updates, and infrastructure improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in desktop support, systems administration, or related IT role.
- Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems, endpoint management, and networking principles.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Active Directory, and Office 365 administration.
- Familiarity with Windows Server, SQL Server, and IIS (configuration and troubleshooting).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Skills
- Any proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell) for automation is beneficial.
- Prior experience supporting IT in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
- Experience with VDI environments is great as well.
