KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with the Executive Director and staff to implement the shared vision, mission, guiding values, major goals, continuous improvement, and strategic plans and processes that are in the best interest of the organization, including all of its associates, clients, patrons, and programs.
- Ensure effective and efficient systems to achieve the mission and objectives in terms of staffing, infrastructure, operations, and key performance measures.
- Demonstrate leadership by example to foster a positive work environment with trust, respect, integrity, open communication, accountability, and transparency.
- Serve as an agency spokesperson as needed.
- Work with the Executive Director regarding government relations and advocacy of Hawaii real estate financing to serve the best interests and needs of homeowners in Hawaii as it relates to the mission, vision, and objectives of affiliates.
- Responsible for the management of loan origination, processing and delivery according to established internal policies and procedures and state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Work with the staff team to cultivate and maintain an appropriate source of loan referrals and to meet mission and goals.
- Originate loans and assists mortgage loan borrowers.
- Develops and cultivates relationships between Real Estate Companies, Developers, Mortgage Wholesalers, Mortgage Brokers, Mortgage Insurance Companies and other related businesses to promote goodwill and generate appropriate sources of new and continued loan referrals.
- Oversee ongoing lending programs & staff, loan origination, delivery, and related promotional events that meet or exceed the financial goals and client service requirements for the short-term and long-term growth and sustainability of the organization.
- Represent the organization in the appropriate mortgage lending and real estate industry networks; share, innovate and implement best practices for current and new programs.
- Responsible for the operational management and administration of HHOCM as well as for other affiliates as assigned.
- Ensure that all of the fiduciary and compliance requirements of business operations, accounting, finance, human resource, federal and Hawaii laws and regulations are fulfilled in an accurate, prudent, consistent and timely manner.
- Implement human resource management to recruit, engage, train, develop, and retain a high performing, agile team of associates.
- Lead and direct improvements in policies, processes and practices. Cascade and implement them with clear communication, practical documentation, and training to the affected areas and individuals.
- Oversight of vendor relationships.
- Ensure emergency preparedness, safety and security of physical facilities, employees, data and client information.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 3 years of staff supervision, management and comprehensive mortgage financing experience with proven results in leadership, residential mortgage loan origination, processing, closing, servicing and portfolio management.
- Must be registered with the NMLS Federal Registry as a mortgage loan originator or become licensed within 3 months of hire.
- Understanding of the real estate and mortgage lending industry, and for-profit business community in Hawaii.
- Established experience and sphere of influence to successfully advocate and secure the support from private and public patrons.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with clear abstract and access to a car to drive to/from meetings.
- Marketing and sales experience are helpful.
