Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Mt Vernon Church in Columbus, MS as they search for their next Lead Pastor. Mt. Vernon has grown into a vibrant and family-oriented congregation. Over the years, the church has evolved into a mature yet youthful community, attracting young families and maintaining a thriving youth ministry that is the largest in the area. They are seeking someone who embodies relational leadership, guiding the congregation with strength and clarity while engaging with individuals, both within and beyond the church walls.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare message each week for Sunday
  • Provide pastoral leadership for MTVchurch, partner with Ministry Team Leaders on pastoral care issues and keep the staff and elders apprised on all related issues
  • Lead MTVstaff in spiritual, interpersonal, and creative growth
  • Continually build systems that will create church growth
  • Influence and lead environments that are built around connecting people to God and fulfilling the Great Commission
  • Be available for appointments (counseling, pre-marital, etc.) and available to assist in crisis situations, hospital visits, funerals, and/or weddings
  • Assist with pastoral care needs of MTVchurch. Partner with Ministry Team Leaders on pastoral care issues and keep staff and elders apprised on all related issues.
