Lead Maintenance and Reliability Engineer

An exciting opportunity awaits at a leading chemical company for an experienced Lead Maintenance and Reliability Engineer specializing in rotating equipment. This role focuses on enhancing the efficiency and reliability of essential plant operations by leading asset maintenance, developing reliability strategies, and managing cross-functional teams to ensure optimal plant performance and equipment longevity.

Salary: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive reliability strategy tailored to business needs, including the identification and management of critical spare parts and enhancement of preventive maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate plant modifications to boost Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), improve yields, and enhance equipment reliability and process quality.
  • Analyze maintenance costs and repair frequencies alongside OEE loss data to pinpoint problem areas and devise improvement or replacement strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams involving Reliability Centered Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma methodologies, and equipment improvements.
  • Generate and present monthly reports detailing ongoing maintenance, reliability activities, and capital projects to stakeholders.
  • Oversee the execution of maintenance work orders, ensuring compliance with quality metrics and encouraging proactive maintenance requests from operators.
  • Direct and coordinate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for significant reliability incidents, assigning leaders and allocating necessary resources for each investigation.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering with over 5 years’ experience in PSM regulated environments, specifically in chemical plants.
  • Robust technical knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance, asset care, and OEE for rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, fans, and blowers.
  • Proficient understanding of industry standards including API, ASME, and PIP.
  • Extensive experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Must be legally able to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Professional certification in Project Management, Six Sigma, or Maintenance & Reliability.
  • Previous leadership experience in a plant or heavy industrial environment.
  • Advanced skills in CMMS programs specifically for maintenance and asset management.
  • Proven track record of improving plant reliability and performance metrics.
