Based near Lethbridge, Alberta, BDI Play Designs is a company that specializes in the construction of playgrounds, spray parks, and play surfacing for cities, schools, and parks throughout southern Alberta and eastern BC.

Lead Hand – Playground Construction

We are looking for someone with construction experience and leadership qualities that is willing to travel away from home for a week at a time from the beginning of April to the end of October and be willing to come back seasonally, long term.

Responsibilities:

  • Assembling Playground Equipment, using Hand and Power Tools
  • Operating Small Equipment such as Skid Steers
  • Physical Labour including: Shoveling, Lifting and Hand Trowelling
  • Landscaping
  • Loading and Unloading of Playground Equipment
  • Installation of Playground Borders
  • Installation of Rubber Surfacing around playground equipment
  • Drive 1 ton Dually Trucks with large Trailers and Loads

Requirements:

  • Construction and/or Farm Experience
  • Familiar with Hand/Power Tools & Equipment
  • Takes Initiative and Motivated to grow into a Leadership position
  • Physically Capable of Lifting 50 lbs
  • Class 5 Driver’s License with Clean Driving Record
  • High Attention to Detail and Quality of Work
  • Willing to Work until the Task is Complete and put in Long Hours
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Organized, Adaptable and Reliable
  • Willing to learn how to Drive Trucks/Trailers

We Offer:

  • $25-28/hour, with daily meal allowances and paid travel & accommodations
  • Company paid Benefit Package
  • Monday - Friday with Occasional Saturdays

  • Travel Requirements: as far West as Creston and as far North as Lacombe – working 5 or 6 days, but always returning home by Saturday night and not working on Sundays.
