Lead Gastroenterologist

We are seeking a full-time Lead Gastroenterologist to join our dynamic medical team in Geneva, NY. Salary: $500,000 - $600,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consult with patients to assess their medical conditions and understand their concerns regarding their digestive health.
  • Perform a variety of diagnostic tests to accurately diagnose patient health issues related to the gastrointestinal system.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans in collaboration with a patient’s primary healthcare provider and other specialists.
  • Utilize historical patient data and current medical findings to inform treatment decisions and follow-up care.
  • Carry out advanced endoscopic procedures at both the hospital’s ambulatory surgery center and inpatient settings.
  • Foster a supportive and informative environment for patients, providing comprehensive information regarding their conditions and treatments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of gastroenterology to enhance treatment protocols and patient care standards.
  • Contribute to the ongoing education and mentorship of staff to promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
  • Board Eligible or Certified in Gastroenterology.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in performing endoscopic and colonoscopy procedures.
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong commitment to applying medical ethics and upholding patient care standards.
  • Effective communication skills, with proficiency in discussing complex health issues with patients and their families.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a leadership role within a gastroenterology department or practice.
  • Published research or presentations in the field of gastroenterology.
