Our client is a family-owned general contracting company in the DFW area the who focus on commercial installation projects. Our client provides design/build for residential, general contracting, and construction project management for clients across the Southwest.

SCOPE OF WORK

  • Lead construction bidding and estimation processes by reviewing OST take offs and bid documents, interpreting specifications by client, and applying requests to proposal using internal estimating software
  • Identify any potential conflicts with client or contract, deliver RFIs, and communicate project specifics to in-field project management team
  • Attend pre-bid meetings (in person) to present proposals and gather client requests. Compile information into system to generate data for proposal.
  • Prepare pre-construction documents and assist in change orders as requested
  • Monitor bid log schedule on a regular basis and adjust workloads as necessary to balance a range of client and project deadlines
  • Utilize technology to create take-offs, interpret client information to assemble accurate proposals, and ensure all documentation matches project scope
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Project Management teams for purchasing, inventory, and price/quantity adjustments

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • 2+ years of experience as an estimator – ideally in the landscaping, design, or commercial construction industry
  • Prior work experience in the field as an installation expert is preferred, but not required
  • High School Diploma or GED required, College Degree preferred
  • Strong understanding in areas including mathematics, engineering, and/or architecture
  • Strong skillset in organization, multi-tasking, communication, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of various software platforms (Office, On Screen Takeoff/OST, etc.)
