Lead Electrical Engineer for Water and Wastewater Projects

We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Professional Engineering and Systems Integration firm, specializing in Design and Design-Build services for Water and Wastewater facilities. This role involves taking charge of complex projects by preparing detailed design drawings, coordinating with professionals during construction phases, and conducting essential electrical studies—all aimed at upholding safety and efficiency at various municipal and industrial facilities.

Salary: DOE per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare comprehensive design drawings and specifications for electrical systems tailored to water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, civil engineers, and contractors throughout the construction phase to ensure project compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct detailed electrical studies, including load calculations and energy analysis, to optimize system performance.
  • Engage in Arc Flash Hazard Analyses to evaluate safety and recommend protective measures for facilities.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring adherence to local and national codes.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Occasional overnight travel to project sites for on-ground project management and troubleshooting.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in consulting engineering, with a focus on designing power and control systems for municipal and industrial facilities.
  • An active Professional Engineering License (PE).
  • Proven capability in performing Arc Flash Hazard Analysis and other related electrical safety assessments.
  • Solid understanding of current engineering principles, tools, and practices as they relate to power and control system design and implementation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Project management certifications such as PMP.
  • Experience with sustainable and energy-efficient design practices.
  • Proficiency in using advanced Electrical CAD and simulation software.
