The role for a Junior Real Estate Lawyer will be to compliment the current practice’s area of expertise and book of business. As the Real Estate Lawyer, you will be to work with clients, banks, lawyers and government departments to ensure the smooth and efficient transfer. You will be expected to meet with clients and liaising with lawyers to ensure a timely completion of transactions, mitigate legal risk when reviewing real estate documentation and ensure proper completion or required paperwork, complete all purchase and sale agreements, and coordinate with client and banks for mortgage and financing documentation, review any leases or amendments needed to contracts and transactions, ensure all title searches and municipal documents are in order prior to purchase and sale and all fees are satisfied, represent the firm in all purchase and sale agreements and act on behalf of the firm and client on any conflicts and work with the support & administrative staff to ensure tight deadlines are met. Your experience with Teraview / Unity systems and ability to see a file to completion from end to end is essential.

The ideal candidate is a Junior Real Estate Lawyer who would love to be part of a smaller entity but work through complex real estate problems. We are looking for someone within a minimum of 1-2 years of experience handling files from beginning to end and brings the confidence and capability to support clients from engagement to completion of purchase or sale. Knowledge of Teraview or Unity is required and a proven ability to work autonomously but be open to development and mentorship is essential. While you will be working for a smaller organization, you will have a unique opportunity to be heard and not a number. Your strong interpersonal skills will allow you to interact with clients throughout their purchase or sale, provide guidance and expertise to complex problems and help support on the corporate commercial side. You will have strong professional guidance and development as you progress your career and build experience. Must be legal to practice in Ontario.
