Labour Relation and Training Advisor

Recruitment Partners is working on a Large Pipeline Construction Project and is searching for an Employment and Training Advisor for the project. This role is a 3-year commitment for the project and will be based in Hope, BC and will be an initial travel in and initial travel out position.


Your success will be defined by your ability to:

  • Provides advice in labour and employment relations for investigations, grievances and complaints, discipline, interpretations of collective agreements, legislation and arbitrations.
  • Uphold labour relations requirements and policies
  • Develops and implements safety training programs designed to instruct employees in general safe work practices plus specific instruction with regard to hazards unique to any job assignment; provides training for new employees
  • Coordinate vendor training and/or lead in house training workshops in the field to support and develop the overall development of employees
  • Manage end-user awareness and training as part of the development and management of standards and policies
  • Identify training opportunities and provide formal end user training, both in person and using other methods
  • Review product/service documentation to ensure accurate inclusion in training content
  • Create, maintain, and update process documentation for the systems for reference and training purposes
  • Establish objectives and develop the criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities; modify training as needed to ensure goals are met


Your strengths include:

  • 5+ years of labour relations and training experience is mandatory
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail is required
  • Ability to work in a very demanding and fast paced environment is mandatory
  • Confidentiality and professionalism is expected at all times
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a great ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel is a must
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail is required
  • The ideal candidate would come from a high volume, fast-paced environment in the Oil and Gas/Construction industry
  • Experience working in a camp setting mandatory
