Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace Processing, New York has an exciting new opportunity for a Laboratory Technician. The successful incumbent will report to the Lab Manager and Quality Assurance Manager. The Laboratory Technician will understand, operate and maintain laboratory procedures per customer specification requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct periodic Testing
  • Collect samples in the chemical plant
  • Prepare samples for submission to outside testing
  • Perform wet chemistry titrations and dilutions
  • Prepare chemical solutions to replace chemistry in tanks when needed
  • Calibrate laboratory equipment such as pH meters, XRF metal analyzer, spectrometer, hydrometer, microscopes, thermometers, and centrifuge
  • Work closely with operations to troubleshoot any issues that might arise
  • Maintain chemical and laboratory inventory
  • Maintain Safety Data Sheet database for raw materials and products
  • Perform data entry

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 year of working in a Lab Environment however similar experience will be considered
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel preferred
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Great organizational skills
