We are currently seeking a dedicated and meticulous Laboratory Pre-Analytical Services Associate to join our team. This position will provide indispensable support within our state-of-the-art laboratory in Phoenix, AZ. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient handling, sorting, and preparation of specimens prior to detailed laboratory analysis. This role is fundamental to maintaining the high standards of specimen integrity and contributes significantly towards accurate diagnostic outcomes, enhancing patient care and clinical results.
Salary: DOE per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and sorting incoming specimens to ensure correct processing.
- Accurate data entry of patient requisitions and verification of information for precision.
- General support functions such as clerical and laboratory assistant duties.
- Perform clerical tasks including documentation and filing to support lab operations.
- Maintaining inventory, ordering and stocking of supplies as directed by the supervisory team.
- Verification and input of patient demographics, consent forms, and insurance information.
- Collaborate with other team members to maintain workspace organization and efficiency.
- Order and prepare tests as per established requests ensuring adherence to procedures.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory or clinical setting.
- Basic understanding of laboratory information systems and proficient in data entry.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software systems.
- Capacity to work early morning shifts from Tuesday – Saturday, 3:00 AM – 11:30 AM.
- Ability to analyze data and document results with high accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in specimen handling and preparation in a clinical or hospital lab.
- Strong attention to detail with high organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience with laboratory automation systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
