Labor and Employment Associate

Our client, a prestigious, nationally recognized law firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Associate Attorney to join its Employment Litigation practice group. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in employment litigation, primarily on the defense side, with a proven ability to manage cases from start to finish.

The successful candidate will possess strong legal strategy skills and exhibit exceptional writing, research, analytical, and communication abilities. This role requires the ability to handle complex legal matters independently while working collaboratively in a team environment. The firm is seeking a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and demonstrates a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage employment litigation cases, including conducting legal research, drafting motions and briefs, managing discovery, and participating in hearings and depositions.
• Develop and implement effective legal strategies for clients facing employment-related claims.
• Provide high-quality legal counsel to clients on a wide range of employment issues, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and other workplace-related disputes.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff on case management, strategy, and trial preparation.
• Maintain client relationships and provide regular updates on case progress.
• Represent clients in court, arbitration, and settlement negotiations as needed.
• Stay current with developments in employment law and litigation strategies.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of employment litigation experience, with a focus on defense work.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact confidently with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Proven track record of handling cases independently from start to finish.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Experience with high-stakes, complex litigation is preferred.
• Am Law 100 firm experience and graduation from a Top 30 law school are highly desirable.
