We are seeking a highly competent and motivated Labor and Delivery Nurse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our state-of-the-art Labor and Delivery unit in Las Vegas, Nevada. This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care and maintaining operational efficiency within the unit. The Nurse Manager will also be involved in staff development, budget management, and implementing policies and procedures that align with healthcare regulations and standards.
Salary: $100,000 - $135,000 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the labor and delivery unit, ensuring compliance with established hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide clinical guidance and leadership to nursing staff, promoting a team-oriented environment that achieves high patient care standards.
- Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in patient care and unit operations.
- Participate in recruitment, hiring, and training of nursing staff, fostering professional growth and development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support staff accountability and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Coordinate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient use of resources.
- Monitor patient care for quality and adherence to safety standards, intervening when necessary to address issues.
- Manage unit budget and resources, optimizing cost-effectiveness while maintaining high-quality patient care.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a hospital setting.
- One to two years of progressive management experience in a healthcare environment.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nevada.
- ACLS, NRP, and BCLS certifications are current and maintained.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare administration.
- Previous experience as a nurse manager in a labor and delivery unit.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and healthcare technology.
- Experience with budget management and resource allocation in a healthcare setting.
- Proven track record in improving patient care and staff performance.
