Labor and Delivery Nurse Manager

The Labor and Delivery Nurse Manager role at our facility in Los Angeles offers an invaluable leadership opportunity in managing the high-quality care provision tailored to our maternal and neonatal patients. This position orchestrates the daily operations, supervises nursing staff, and ensures compliance with all regulatory standards. Salary: $165,000 - $205,000 per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the units’ daily clinical operations by setting and enforcing practice standards, managing staff, and overseeing budgets and fiscal policies.
  • Ensure the delivery of the highest quality of care in compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Develop and execute action plans for staff development and optimize human resources utilization reflecting patient demands.
  • Supervise daily operations including payroll, human resources management, department safety, and risk management initiatives.
  • Monitor and enforce quality of service and utilization standards, and take responsibility for patient care at the unit level.
  • Facilitate collaborative patient care planning with health care providers across different units.
  • Identify and implement best practice models from other units and resolve any patient or family concerns regarding care.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of nursing experience, with a focus on labor and delivery.
  • At least two years in a leadership role such as a charge nurse, preceptor, or similar capacities.
  • A Graduate from an accredited school of nursing besides a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must hold a current Registered Nurse License in California at the time of hire.
  • Required certifications include Basic Life Support, with ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification potentially required depending on the department.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement, clinical care delivery processes, staffing, and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other relevant regulatory requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACLS certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Experience acting as a Preceptor, Trainer, or Clinical Educator.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Proficient in managing in a fast-paced environment and resolving challenges efficiently and effectively.
