Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the VP FSQA, the Labeling Compliance Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring product and customer labeling are in compliance with Federal, State and local regulations, by monitoring applicable regulations, applying standards and education. Provides leadership, coordination and support for accurate ingredient labeling documentation, accurate formulas, label content development and claims compliance. Coordinates Claims and Labeling position and leads labeling discrepancy resolution. Identifies and informs employees and executives of all relevant and applicable labeling regulations, identify risks of nonconformance, recommend actions to reduce risk, monitors ongoing compliance and provides performance reports to executive leadership. Assists in coordinating the interface with regulatory agencies and legal counsel as needed. Reviews and analyzes labeling regulations, news and risks for trends to recommend continuous improvement efforts. Coordinates and leads cross-functional teams related to all aspects of label development and review to ensure compliance with domestic and international regulations and guidance. Coordinates and leads the processes that continuously review and ensure that all packaging have accurate and complete Nutritional labeling information in conformance with Label Master Data and that all packaging complies with all applicable regulations and guidelines and is updated as needed. Provides regulatory support and reviews to the process that maintains Nutritional Master Data. Supports the R&D function to ensure all recipes are written properly to support all aspects of compliance with regulations. Administers and Manages label development system, protocols and accuracy to support up to date and accurate labeling. Utilizes and Manages external labeling/regulatory resources for daily support, continuing education and labeling support as needed.

Background Required:
  • Regulatory & Label Development and Compliance leadership (5 yrs)
  • Management experience (3 yrs)
  • Proven experience in leading broad scope labeling improvement and change initiatives
  • Thorough knowledge and work experience of government agency labeling regulations (FDA, USDA, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data sheets and other industry related documentation
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Label Master Data Management
  • Project management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Education: BS/BA in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or a food science technical discipline
  • Travel: 10%
  • Residence: Milwaukee, WI or Lathrop, CA (Relocation assistance provided)
