JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a LAB TECHNICIAN II in Piedmont, SC, 2nd Shift. Our client is manufacturing facility that supports automotive industry. This is a Direct Hire opportunity.

Monday - Friday
4:00pm - 12:30am

The Lab Technician II is responsible for:

A. PRIMARY DUTIES:
* Analyze designated lines; AA analysis as scheduled – Daily; Sample collection from lines – Daily
* Wet Analysis of plating tanks, cleaners, acids and topcoats – Daily; Entering of Analysis data into Zinc-It – Daily
* Update process tech chemical additions based on analysis results.
* Refill titrant containers, DI water, etc. Audit Buffers, Reagents at RMF, RMF2 as needed.
* Prepare laboratory reagents (chemicals) as specified.
* Troubleshooting of plating lines as needed.
* Chemical Inventory required for Lab, Waste Treatment and Process chemicals and ordering chemicals.
* Chemical Inventory required for Lab(s) including auditing for quantity, expiration dates and ordering.
* Inventory Control - Monitoring, receiving and reporting any discrepancies..
* Effectively managing Process Technicians if under your assignment
* Analyze Other RMF Facility’s samples as needed.
* Calibrate pH meters as scheduled; Complete scheduled Maintenance requests on time.
* Review chemical data charts and respond as needed..
* HWMO(Waste Treatment and Hazardous Waste Management Operator) Responsible for WT on shift.
* Other duties as they arise and are specified primarily concerning lab work and plant operation – Daily
* Responsible for housekeeping in Lab and designated chemical add areas.
* Report any accidents or safety issues in your work area to upper management

B. OTHER: (e.g. authorizations, authority to issue directives, information rights):
* Follow RMF safety procedures and Company policies (RMF Handbook)
* HWMOA(Waste Treatment and Hazardous Waste Management Operator Assistant) and Training. Check the metals and chrome in W.T when needed. Back-up as needed.
* Participate in monthly Vital Signs meetings
* Training of other employees regarding Chemical Handling Training, etc. as needed.
* External Plating course completion, i.e, Kushner Electroplating Course
* RMF internal plating training (RMF Plating 101, etc.)
* Participate in RMF Committees as needed and required.
* RMF Leadership Training course completion.

C. DUTIES NOT TO BE CARRIED OUT:
* Changing chemistry set points and /or chemistry type.
* Adding new personnel or changing work schedule.
* Resetting of machine alarms without responding per the reaction plan

D. WORKPLACE REQUIREMENTS: (only those actually necessary for the position) * Proper PPE , gloves, safety glasses and or shield, Lab Coat when needed
* Chemical Handler training completed

E. KEY MEASURABLES:
* ReWa, DHEC, IAFT 16949 and ISO 14001 compliance
* MBO – goals and objectives
* Vital Signs – Quality, Cost, Delivery, Service/Safety
* Housekeeping - 5S audits, safety audits, process audits
* Training, Attendance, Suggestions, Safety and Disciplinary records

REQUIRED Experience and Education:

  • High School/ GED required.
  • 3 Years of chemical handling experience.
  • Computer skills, conversion from US to Metric
