Travel Histotechnologist - Saranac Lake, NY

Pay Information

$2,400 to $2,500 per week

Shift Details

Days - 5 x 8 hours

About the Position

• Perform accurate gross description, dissection, and processing of biopsies and surgical tissue specimens
• Prepare histologic slides including embedding, microtomy, staining, cover slipping, and IHC
• Operate histology and cytology equipment
• Assist with cytology specimen preparation
• Perform routine maintenance of lab equipment and assist in accessioning as needed
• Follow established protocols and ensure specimen integrity, quality, and accuracy
• Support limited technical activities in the pathology department as required

Requirements

• 1+ years of grossing experience – Required
• Full technical experience in:
• Grossing biopsies
• Histology preparation (embedding, cutting, staining)
• Cytology prep
• IHC, with strong experience preferred
• Experience performing on the Leica BOND MAX – Strongly preferred
• Current New York State license as one of the following:
• Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT)
• Medical Technologist (MT)
• Histotechnologist (HTL)
