LTC SNF Regional Nurse Consultant

They have engaged our firm to help them build a new team of Regional Nurse Consultants

The Regional Nurse Consultants (RNCs) will consult with facilities in all facets of clinical care through medical record review, on site observation, and phone consultation and will provide consultant services consistent with established standards of practice and federal and state requirements.

Regional Nurse Consultant (RNCs) will:

  • Consult with facilities on an as needed basis through visits, phone calls, off site record review and response to requests from facility leadership.
  • Provide consultation during unusual or serious events.
  • Provide on site consultation as needed during regulatory surveys and during the plan of correction period.
  • Consult with facility as needed on topics such as program development, physician recruitment, referral relationships and requirements, five star ratings, competency evaluation and staff education needs.
  • Perform peer/mock surveys as needed prior to regulatory survey window and provide consultation related to JCAHO accreditation.
  • Consult as needed in matters of development of Clinical Staff, including Directors of Nursing, Unit Managers, and Assistant Directors of Nursing.
  • Ensure resident care and clinical practice meets acceptable standards as defined by nursing practice acts, JCAHO requirements (where applicable) and state and federal requirements.
Regional Nurse Consultant (RNCs) must have:
  • Minimum of Associate Degree in Nursing (RN).
  • BSN/MSN preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of DON experience in LTC/Post Acute Care.
  • 3-5 years of multi facility consulting experienced.
  • Knowledge of EMR (PCC) systems or ability to adopt with sufficient orientation.
  • Knowledge of state specific regulations and guidelines.
