Job Description

Job Location: Honolulu Compensation: $18-$25/hour
Employment Type: Direct Hire - Full Time or Part-Time Work Schedule: Wednesday closed 5pm-10pm (Days and Time negotiable)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Kitchen Chef Duties:
‐ Prepare a variety of dishes according to established recipes and culinary standards
‐ Oversee the kitchen team to ensure the quality and presentation of all dishes
‐ Manage food inventory and order supplies as needed
‐ Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment
‐ Collaborate with front-of-house staff for efficient service delivery

2. Kitchen Assistant Duties:

‐ Assist the kitchen team in food preparation and cooking tasks
‐ Wash, peel, and chop ingredients as directed
‐ Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
‐ Support the kitchen chef in ensuring timely and efficient food service
‐ Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Chef or in a similar role is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and various cuisines, including Japanese cuisine
  • Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Effective leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong work ethic and attention to cleanliness and detail
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a culinary environment
