Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with Venture Church in Naples, Florida as they search for their next Kids Ministry Director. Venture Church is a nondenominational church where you can engage in life-giving community while growing closer to Jesus. They create a space where you can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover your gifts, and use them for God’s glory.

The Venture Kids Ministry Director leads and oversees the spiritual growth and development of children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Our new Director will play a pivotal role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment where children can encounter God's love, grow in their faith, and build strong foundations for their spiritual journey.


The ideal candidate will be:

  • A deep and genuine personal relationship with Jesus Christ, coupled with a strong desire to lead children into a vibrant faith journey.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in children's ministry leadership.
  • Experience working in a mid-size church or large church (700 - 1,000 average attendance).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and volunteers.
  • Proven ability to create and/or implement an engaging curriculum that aligns with Biblical principles and the developmental stages of children.
  • Leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and empower volunteers to excel in their roles.
  • A bachelor's degree in theology, ministry, education, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Experience running kids programming on Sundays and midweek programming


RESPONSIBILITIES

Spiritual Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for Kids Ministry that aligns with the overall mission and values of the church.
  • Provide leadership, spiritual guidance, and mentorship to volunteers, parents, and children, fostering a culture of faith and discipleship.

Program Development

  • Design and/or implement an age-appropriate, creative, and engaging curriculum for Sunday services, midweek gatherings, and special events
  • Coordinate and oversee the logistics of all Kids Ministry activities
  • Develop innovative ways to reach children and young families
  • Work with volunteers by building teams, promoting teamwork, and empowering leaders.

Volunteer Recruitment and Training

  • Recruit, equip, and train a team of dedicated volunteers to effectively lead and assist in various aspects of the Kids Ministry
  • Foster a sense of community among volunteers, encouraging collaboration and growth.

Parental Engagement

  • Collaborate with parents to support and reinforce spiritual growth at home, providing resources, communication, and events that encourage family discipleship.
  • Organize parent workshops and gatherings to address relevant parenting and faith-related topics.
