THE OPPORTUNITY
Here's a great role with a growing branded manufacturer & distributor of team sports equipment and apparel. They are privately owned and have been delivering high-value, traditional & innovative athletic equipment and apparel via outstanding, integrity-driven customer service for thirty-five years. We are searching for an experienced, ambitious and energetic Key Account Manager to help them expand their customer base.

This role manages the strategic relationships for their Key Account base which encompasses a diverse range of channels including: omnichannel sporting goods, mass merchant and E-commerce businesses. This position would also be responsible for developing, negotiating and implementing sales and marketing programs, pricing and brand building initiatives. Candidates should have a fundamental knowledge of the sporting goods industry.


REPORTING STRUCTURE

Reports to the VP of Sales and is in Wheeling, IL. Hybrid Schedule (3 days in office & 2 days remote).


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with VP of Global Sales to create strategic business plans for designated channels.
• Create and execute key account presentations to include product, pricing, marketing and merchandising guidance.
• Build long term relationships with current assigned key business partners, along with, developing new key business partners.
• Identify opportunities and negotiate with key accounts to increase market share and drive profitability.
• Work with cross functional areas of the company to create and manage operational processes required to support key account growth.


REQUIRMENTS
• Must have experience with selling sports equipment or team uniforms.
• Experience working with or for National Retailers.
• Knowledge of the Sporting Goods Industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration/ management or related field.
• Hands on approach with a sense of urgency to achieve sales and profit goals.
• Possess strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem resolution, time management skills.
• Strong leadership and management capability.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel – V lookup, Pivot Tables, etc.
• Ability to prioritize projects and to successfully handle multiple tasks as required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Team oriented and self-motivated.
• Create processes to ensure optimal efficiency and accuracy.
• Independent individual with the drive to build long-term relationships and establish a record of personal and organizational success.
