Key Account Manager- Illinois
Our client, who designs, constructs, and renovates livestock buildings, is searching for a Key Account Manager in Illinois.
Reporting to the President, the Key Account Manager is responsible for direct sales, marketing, customer service, and payment collection activities. The right person for this position will have a strong ability to sell, interact, communicate, think creatively, and be able to establish and maintain relationships. This position will be based in Illinois and will require some travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct and coordinate activities involving sales of products, services, or other subjects of sale
- Achieve consistent growth in sales and gross margin, in accordance with sales budgets
- Leverage current industry relationships and the develop new prospects
- Ensure sales are successfully completed with involvement at each stage of the sales and construction process
- Identify and qualify prospective customers
- Develop and advance sales projects for new and existing customers
- Advise dealers and distributors on policies and operating procedures to ensure functional effectiveness of business
- Confer with potential customers on equipment needs and advise types of equipment to purchase
- Assess marketing potential of new and existing store locations
- Close the sale and implement the start-up
- Work with estimating team to prepare budgets and proposals
- Evaluate potential products, technologies, or resources
- Anticipate, identify and resolve concerns
- Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products
- Build and develop teams with by training and teaching
DESIRED PROFILE:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 year’s previous sales experience in Agriculture, with knowledge of swine, cattle, and poultry
- Ability to maintain and increase sales volume with established accounts and aggressively seek large, new customers
- Knowledge of construction, equipment, animal health/nutrition/production/genetics, and a strong industry network
- Prior experience in managing projects to a successful completion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness and ability to travel overnight
- Proficiency with computer operation, including use of Outlook, Teams, Google products, and Microsoft Office products
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Post-offer background check and drug screen will be required
