Junior Contract Specialist

Veterans Management Services, Inc. (VMSI) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB)and we are looking for a highly motivated Contract Specialist to join our team supporting our Department of Veterans Affairs (VA client. The mission of the VA is to “To fulfill President Lincoln's promise to care for those who have served in our nation's military and for their families, caregivers, and survivors.”

The Contract Specialist is responsible for providing day-to-day administrative and cradle-to-grave support for the procurement of commercial and non-commercial goods and services for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, award, and administer limited contract types with supervision and oversight.
  • Perform cradle-to-grave acquisition functions, including pre-award, post-award, and contract termination/close-out.
  • Review procurement requests for compliance with regulations, procedures, and adequacy of technical specifications or purchase descriptions.
  • Verify sufficiency of supporting documentation for procurement requests.
  • Develop solicitation documents and other contractual documentation, including Determinations & Findings (D&Fs), justifications, solicitation amendments, and supporting memoranda.

Qualifications

  • 2 years Federal Contracting Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Familiar with FAR and VAAR based procurements
